About (draft) — Elm Tree Theatre

Hello! We are Elm Tree Theatre, a small, non-profit theatre company dedicated to creating and performing interactive theatre pieces for children ages 1-5, located in Amiskwaciwâskahikan (Edmonton, Alberta).

Our productions include Wild Backyard (formerly The Urban Wildlife Project), that explores local wildlife, Water Wishes which takes place in a pool setting, and Colour Wizards, a journey through different coloured worlds.

We acknowledge that we are gathered in amiskwaciwâskahikan (colonially known as Edmonton), in Treaty 6 Territory and Metis Region 4. We would like to thank the land and the many diverse Indigenous Peoples such as nêhiyaw, Dene, Blackfoot, Anishinaabe, Metis, Haudenosaunee, Nakota Sioux, and Niitsitapi peoples whose ancestors have called this place home for centuries. It is through this land acknowledgment that Elm Tree Theatre commits to providing experiences that are rooted in creation and connection, and to embody care in every facet of our work.
